Pizza in Paris

I am travelling with Rory to Italy to connect with family and collegues as well as friends. I am showing my son how things are done, especially with the food angle. We arrived in Paris two days ago and we have both been impressed with the quality of food available and the great variety of it. There are so many people and yet the prices are competitive and the quality of ingredients for the size of the city is impressive.

Today we had the pleasure to celebrate my birthday with an old friend and his wife. Since leaving Victoria some years ago, Gino and Kelly have opened an authentic Italian pizza and pasta spot in the city. It was like being with family and at home. Being from Naples he spins an authentic pizza; watching him making it for us was seeing history and tradition in motion. The hospitality was equal to the food, fine red wine, desert of a sauteed eggplant chocolate truffle and the ritualistic espresso to wrap the gift. Of course we walked off the meal by strolling in see Jim Morrison's tomb at Perè-Lachaise Cemetery. We are both looking forward to being in Italy and seeing how things move there food wise, stay tuned.
